As a member of the commodities team, you will be part of a highly ranked and dynamic group that offers comprehensive legal advice to a diverse range of clients, including financial institutions, hedge funds, energy companies, utility groups, and corporates. The team’s primary focus lies within the commodities sector, with an additional emphasis on digital trade.
Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal counsel on regulatory and transactional matters related to commodities.
- Advising clients on UK and EU financial services rules and commodity market regulations.
- Handling licensing and compliance issues arising from MiFID II, EMIR, REMIT, MAR, and Brexit-related changes.
- Analysing and staying up to date with the ever-evolving legal landscape in the commodities sector.
- Collaborating closely with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in the UK with an excellent academic background.
- Substantial experience and a proven track record in commodities law, regulatory matters, and transactional work.
- Sound understanding of UK and EU financial services regulations and commodity market rules.
- Familiarity with licensing and compliance requirements under MiFID II, EMIR, REMIT, MAR, and post-Brexit changes.
