Our client is one of the world’s leading law firms. Their market-leading TMT/Outsourcing team advises on major transactions for major clients, across outsourcing (BPO and ITO), cloud computing, AI, blockchain, big data, IoT, automation, machine learning, and fintech. They also advise on IT systems procurement, development and licensing, sourcing strategies and alternative contracting models, data privacy, information governance, including cyber security, digital transformation models, business service transformation projects and transactional and advisory work in the TMT and Digital sectors.
Partners in the team understand that their team works hard, and care about careers and aspirations. They foster a collegiate atmosphere, the team works closely together and colleagues “have each other’s back”. Although offering a wide range of TMT and digital-focused services, Associates are encouraged to pursue their own sector specialisms. Before the pandemic made it mainstream, the team (and firm) had fully embraced agile working, and Associates are encouraged (and resourced) to work in a way and location which works for them. Perhaps more unusually the firm (and particularly the firm’s TMT group) is heavily invested and leading the charge in the legal profession’s digital transformation. There will be opportunities for candidates to explore this route if it is of interest.
In this context, and due to consistent and growing client demand, they are now looking for an additional Senior Associate for their London team.
Successful candidates will be expected to assist (and where appropriate, lead) on transactions with supervision. You’ll be responsible for drafting legal advice for clients (working with Senior Associates on more complex matters). You’ll be asked to provide legally sound but practical and commercial advice tailored to the client, and you’ll have to implement strong organisational skills to prioritise in order to cope with conflicting demands and meet deadlines. There will be the opportunity to supervise and develop Trainees and Paralegals, and also for secondments with strategic clients.
In this team you’ll have the opportunity to adopt a client-facing role for a broad range of clients and take on an active and client-facing role in business development planning and execution.
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Qualified as a solicitor and probably gained at least 4 years’ experience of TMT and Outsourcing matters, probably from a leading private practice law firm (in-house candidates or candidates from outside of London would be considered too).
- Excellent academics.
- The aptitude to work on large, high profile and technically complicated transactions.
- Willingness to learn and the ability to work hard.
- A common sense, down-to-earth approach.
- First rate drafting skills.
- Commerciality and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment.
- The ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a relaxed and confident manner.
This position attracts excellent remuneration and is a stellar opportunity to grow your career with a top ranked, high profile team. For solicitors with appropriate equivalent common-law experience based abroad, an excellent sponsorship and relocation package will also be available.
