A well-established UK law firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join their Leasehold Enfranchisement team based ideally in the Southampton office, but open to other regional locations on a 12 month FTC basis. This role is a maternity cover but has the potential to become a permanent role.
Reporting to the partner and working within a niche team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to clients who are involved in the process of purchasing/selling or extending the freehold of their leasehold property. You will also be expected to manage matters relating to right to manage applications, freehold sales/purchases which are subject to the right of first refusal provisions in the Landlord & Tenant Act 1987. Their clients range from groups of private leaseholders, residents’ associations and companies, to investment landlords, institutional lenders, and developers.
The team is committed to providing their clients with exceptional service, focussing on understanding the client’s business objectives and what motivates them. Therefore, you will be expected to foresee your client’s requirements with the ability to react quickly and provide bespoke advice.
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales with a current Practising Certificate
- Upwards of 7 years’ PQE in handling Leasehold Enfranchisement matters
- Experience gained from notable City or Regional firms
- Excellent knowledge and experience in advising on their rights under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, and the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 are key.
