Our client is a niche boutique law firm in the West Midlands. Their clients own both residential and commercial properties – and their services deal with any rent and financial recovery issues that might arise for these clients.
To drive the Residential side of the business forward, our client is looking to appoint a senior solicitor/director.
The role requires the following:
- A UK qualified solicitor – offering at least 10 years’ PQE.
- High familiarity with Landlord & Tenant Act 1985/1987.
- High familiarity with Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
- Supporting the process team with queries.
- Supporting the litigation team – advice work/training staff.
- Knowledge of key case law surrounding leasehold legislation.
- Knowledge of the RTM process and structure.
- Some knowledge of Companies Act 2006.
Areas of work covered within the role:
- Debt recovery – small claims/fast track/multi track.
- Breach of Lease: county court action/FTT tribunal action.
- Forfeiture & Possession Proceedings.
- Lease extensions.
- Lease variations.
- FTT applications.
- Lease analysis.
- Enforcement of judgments.
- Appointment of manager applications.
As lead solicitor you will be required to provide advice focusing on:
- Major works consultation
- S20b notices
- Lease structure
- Notices of repairs
