Our client is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms.
Their very impressive Private Equity team is highly regarded, and a cornerstone of their significant City corporate Group. The team has now reached a scale where a dedicated Private Equity PSL is sought to support the firm’s heavyweight Private Equity transactional team based in London.
Unusually for a PSL role, rather than a current PSL, the firm would prefer to hire somebody with recent top end transactional experience at Senior Associate level (probably at least 5 PQE, though could be significantly more).
The right person will have a wealth of intensive experience “on the tools” of Private Equity transactional work from a top end, top ranked Private Equity practice. You’ll have worked on and run a significant number of market leading private equity transactions, and now want to step away from the front end of deal work and bring your experience to bear as a subject matter expert. As a leader in the Group, your experience will be valued and counsel listened to. Your expertise will shape the way the Private Equity team engages with clients into the future.
This might suit a candidate who has taken a career break and isn’t yet ready to go back into a deal-focused role. You’ll be supported in this transition; the firm has a large and well-developed PSL team, and whole business units are focused on legal tech and automation, ensuring PSLs and fee-earners are backed with leading technology.
This is a high profile, strategic, and Senior position for the London Private Equity team and the firm; they are not in a hurry and determined to secure the right candidate.
If you are a strong Private Equity lawyer looking for a middle ground between hard-core deal work and a more traditional PSL role, this might be the opportunity for you.
