Pensions Lawyer – 12 month FTC

We are working with a leading national law firm that is looking to hire for their ranked Pensions Team on a contract basis. The contract has arisen due to a period of absence within the team, is due to start in September/October and will run for a duration of 12 months. Having numerous offices throughout the UK, this role can be tied to any of the firm’s regional offices on a hybrid basis.

The pensions team offers a specialist practice and is known for providing tailored and practical advice in a personable and client centred manner. Their clients include pension scheme trustees; medium to large corporates and other entities to include public bodies, SMEs, charities and trade unions. Many of their corporate clients are well known household names. They advise in relation to a vast number of occupational pension schemes of a variety in size, ranging from £1million to £1billion and their experience covers a broad variety of scheme types including defined contribution, defined benefit (both final salary and career average schemes) as well as hybrid schemes.

The successful individual will join a highly regarded, friendly and inclusive team and can expect to work with individuals and matters across all national offices. It is likely that the successful candidate will possess experience sufficient to manage a caseload, support the delivery of pensions advice on day-to-day matters and complex one-off projects. It is also likely that they will work alongside pensions partners on key client accounts to deliver ongoing advisory support and draft detailed deeds and other documents.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales
  • Upwards of 2 years’ PQE in advising on a full range of pensions matters
  • Experience gained within a notable law firm within the UK
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine desire to join a ranked pensions team on a contract basis
  • The ability to start a new role in September or October
