We have been instructed on an excellent role by an international energy service business, that are one of the pre-eminent entities within the energy trading space, as well as one of the world’s most recognised groups in renewable energy products, particularly across Europe.
The Legal and Compliance Manager position, to be based in our client’s London office, involves a wide array of stimulating work where you will report to the Head Legal of Trading & Sales, and provide expertise as a senior member of the legal function. The main focus will be to draft and negotiate energy trading and supply agreements. These include electricity and gas supply contracts, power purchase agreements, as well as financially settled derivatives. You will also be expected to provide day-to-day support to the wider legal function in corporate support for the UK and Ireland business, as well as international offices.
Furthermore, successful candidates will have extensive expertise within regulatory compliance. This includes FCA compliance, as well as compliance towards energy regulators such as Ofgem, grid operators, industry organisations and our client’s internal code of business. You will be expected to implement group Ethics and Compliance policies and tailor them to UK standards.
Applicants must have a UK legal qualification with at least 5 years’ experience at an international law firm, or from an internationally recognised business within the energy sector.
