We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded International Trade Lawyer to join our client, a leading global energy firm. This would be working out of their office in Saudi Arabia
This role is ideal for a legal professional with deep expertise in global trade compliance, sanctions, and export controls, who can provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical legal advice on international trade, sanctions, and export controls
- Develop and implement compliance procedures across export controls, FDI, antiboycott, customs, and WTO obligation
- Identify trade risks and design effective mitigation strategies
- Support and enhance internal export control and compliance programs
- Conduct due diligence for transactions, acquisitions, and new business activities
- Deliver training on trade compliance and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with business leaders to implement legal and compliance frameworks
- Manage external counsel and support global operations, subsidiaries, and joint ventures
- Monitor regulatory developments and support audits and compliance reviews
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in good standing in the US, Canada, UK, or EU
- Law degree from an accredited institution
- 6+ years’ experience in international trade law (law firm or multinational)
- Strong experience in economic sanctions and export licensing regimes
- Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- High ethical standards and sound judgment
