Interim Legal Counsel – Saudi Arabia

An exciting technology company in the Middle East is looking to hire an interim Legal Counsel to join the business vertical dedicated to rolling out their retail offering in Saudi Arabia. The initial assignment is due to run for a period of a few months, but there is potential for further extension and or permanency.

The successful lawyer will be the sole legal counsel in Saudi Arabia but will be supported by the wider legal team in the UAE. The successful lawyer can expect to:

  • Advise the business on legal aspects of business decisions, identify, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Draft and review legal agreements, including supply agreements, leases, and bespoke agreements for partnership.
  • Lead contract negotiations with key suppliers and partners.
  • Navigate evolving regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
  • Work on the legal aspects of launching new markets and dark stores in the market.

Lawyers should be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor.
  • Upwards of four years’ PQE in handling a broad range of general commercial work.
  • Prior experience in the retail, FMCG, or dark store sectors in the MENA region.
  • The ability to work with shifting priorities, ambiguity, and fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong drafting skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
