We are working with an innovative start up ABS law firm who are attached to a London-based insurance business. They have recently hired a Partner from a well-regarded City insurance focused firm, and doors will open for business early next year.
They have already hired two Associates and insurance part of the business promises to generate plenty of work (the firm will also have its own clients), so they are now looking to recruit 1-3 additional Associates.
In order to be considered for this role, you will be a professional indemnity lawyer with at least two years post-qualification experience and experience defending either solicitors or accountants. There is no upper end in terms of PQE, and our client is prepared to be very flexible in terms of background and working pattern. As a newly formed ABS, the business does not conform to a traditional law firm structure, career progression will be measured in financial terms rather than title.
We don’t see the opportunity to work for an innovative start-up law firm, well-backed by an entrepreneurial, profitable business often. This could be a superb, long-term career path for a senior lawyer looking for consistent hours, perhaps who wants to continue to do the heavy lifting of practice but not at the sharp end. If you’re a professional indemnity lawyer sick of the grind of traditional law firms, please call to hear more.
