We have recently received a direct instruction from a premium top 10 City firm with global offices, on a unique role within the firm. The in-house Legal team, based in the London office, is seeking a Lawyer to work closely with the firm’s General Counsel. The role will have a focus on professional indemnity insurance matters, but will cover a very wide range of responsibilities on beyond this, including general advise to the fee earners, and working on matters involving sanctions, anti-money laundering and risk management.
This role would be well suited to a fee-earner looking to transition into an in-house role, while still remaining within an elite law firm but without such unpredictable hours. This would be best suited to a Lawyer coming from a contentious background, ideally with good experience in professional indemnity matters.
This broad role will include:
- Organising professional indemnity insurance;
- Investigating and dealing with complaints against the firm;
- Instructing outside counsel if claims reach that level;
- Handling inquiries from the Risk & Compliance team;
- General assistance on a range of matters for the General Counsel;
The General Counsel is seeking a Laywer, approximately between 3 and 7 years’ PQE, who they can work closely with on broad range of matters. A desire to be involved in many different aspects of the firm will be expected, as is an ability to manage a busy workload. Strong academics and a solid career history, as well as England & Wales qualification, will also be required.
