Our client, an elite US law firm, is looking to hire a midlevel or senior associate (class of 2020+) in its market-leading funds regulatory team in Chicago.
It is important that candidates have a strong understanding of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940. Having experience in private equity and hedge fund formation is also beneficial.
The attorneys in the investment funds group offer legal, regulatory, and compliance advice to investment advisers, family offices, and other financial institutions worldwide. They deal with the operation and management of various funds, such as private equity funds, private credit funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds. They also provide guidance on structuring complex corporate transactions involving investment advisers and funds. The investment funds regulatory attorneys regularly assist clients with SEC examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions and collaborate closely with the firm’s white collar litigation department. They also provide advice on Investment Company Act matters, including regulatory compliance, status, and structuring.
