Employment Lawyer – 12 month FTC – London

We are working with a leading London law firm in their search for an Employment Lawyer for a 12 month FTC (with potential extension). The contract is ideally due to start imminently, although they are willing to wait should the suitable candidate be subject to a short notice period.

The firm is very highly regarded for being a key player within the city, attracting high calibre clients whilst maintaining a collegiate atmosphere with a good work life balance.

The Employment team is highly ranked within the legal directories for the advice they provide to respondent and claimant clients across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters. A significant portion of their clients sit within the financial services, professional services, technology and fintech sectors.

In joining this notable team, the successful candidate can expect to have a high level of responsibility and client contact from the outset. They will be involved in advising employers and employees on dismissals, disciplinary processes, grievances, and other employee relations issues; negotiating settlement agreements; working on high value tribunal and High Court litigation; advising on TUPE matters; negotiating and advising on employee contracts and drafting handbooks.

Whilst a lot of autonomy will be afforded to the successful candidate, key partner support will also be on hand as and when required.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa, for example)
  • In excess of 4 years’ PQE in handling a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for claimant and respondent clients
  • Experience obtained from notable City, National or Top Tier Regional firms
  • Experience in advising clients within the financial services, professional services, technology and fintech sectors on their employment matters

  • A client-centric mindset
  • The desire to join a well-regarded team for a contract of 12 months
  • The ability to start a new role at short notice
