We are working with a reputable Children’s Charity in their search for a 12 month contractor to provide cover for their Deputy Head of Legal.
The charity focuses on providing support for young people and children by offering emotional care and practical support and ensuring that their voices are heard.
Due to an upcoming period of absence, the charity is looking to line up a temporary Deputy Head of Legal for a contract of 12 months. Ideally, the successful individual should be able to start the role in late August through to September time in order to facilitate a brief handover.
The role is varied and will cover a multitude of aspects, from advising the charity on employment matters (both contentious and non-contentious), to advising on commercial contracts, corporate transactions, corporate governance matters and broader policy reviews.
Candidates do not necessarily need to be coming from the charitable sector, but they must have broad experience to be comfortable in advising the charity on employment matters, corporate transactions, governance matters, commercial contracts and policy compliance as well as maintaining clear lines of communication with the General Counsel and other internal stakeholders.
The successful individual will work closely with and report to the General Counsel. Whilst there are no formal line manager responsibilities, the successful candidate should be willing and interested in supervising more junior members of the legal team.
The legal team works on a hybrid basis, with 1 day a week required in their London office.
This represents a superb and rare opportunity to become an integral part of the legal team of a fantastic Children’s Charity.
