Corporate PSL – Part-Time

This is a sensational opportunity for a current Corporate PSL or a Corporate Associate looking for a Knowledge Management role to work in the highly regarded Corporate team at a leading Global firm, in either London or Guildford.

In this role you will manage and execute key Knowledge initiatives for the Corporate team, working in collaboration with a range of Knowledge and other business support personnel throughout the firm.

The role will comprise several aspects:

Core Duties will include:

  • Working with the dedicated Knowledge Partner and the Global Head of Knowledge to develop the Corporate team’s knowledge content plan and towards the achievement of the plan’s objectives.
  • Monitoring legal developments, legal trends and regulatory changes, analysing key impacts, and communicating this to the Corporate team, incorporating these changes into other knowledge work products in the team and more widely (this may include the creation of market-facing content, and precedent/practice guidance amendments).
  • Promoting the contribution of know-how, and instigating processes to maximise contributions (including attendance at internal Corporate team meetings, regular reminders, end of matter de-briefs etc).
  • Maintenance of the Firm’s intranet platform to provide a comprehensive knowledge resource for the Corporate team, to include other knowledge work products and know-how collections.
  • Building greater cross practice area connections between other Knowledge Lawyers in the UK and globally.
  • Working with the Corporate team’s leadership to raise the profile of the team by a more consistent application of best practices in content-led practice development and brand-enhancement

Key deliverables: 

  • Creating and maintaining the Corporate team’s bank of precedents, templates, standard advice, and processing maps so as to promote efficient, streamlined work production and support delegation
  • Assessing and developing best practice guidelines in conjunction with Partners, Risk and other stakeholders
  • Identifying innovative approaches to the improvement of service delivery in both technology and process
  • Contributing to and assisting with the scoping and administration of pilots to test and encourage innovation within the Corporate team and across the wider Firm.

Market-facing – Supporting alignment between local, regional and global business development and knowledge strategy; developing content for thought leadership reports, legal publications, client alerts or client training as required; monitoring and tracking industry/sector developments relevant to the firm’s key clients, and feeding into market facing content and other knowledge work product and deliverables; promoting the wider utilisation of knowledge and innovation tools and processes within the wider Corporate team.

Training Supporting the Corporate team’s training by providing input into the curriculum, developing training and presentation materials (including e-learning modules), and delivering modules as required. You will also be asked to collaborate on global Corporate legal training programmes.

There will also be an opportunity to support the firm’s external client training by developing training and presentation materials and delivering modules as required, in particular identifying opportunities to offer clients “added value” services.

In order to be considered, you will have:

  • Been admitted in England & Wales.
  • A strong academic background.
  • Training and at least four-six years’ PQE gained from within a recognised Corporate practice (preferably a City or international law firm); or as a PSL/Knowledge Management/Practice Support lawyer (some experience of working in a PSL role, or undertaking significant knowledge projects within a fee-earning role is strongly preferred).
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), and the confidence to communicate and present well in a multi-cultural, multi-level environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of and ability/willingness to promote connections between Knowledge Management, training and business development.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills.
  • Strong legal research and excellent legal drafting skills.
