Our client, a fantastic Californian firm who has recently expanded internationally, is seeking a midlevel/senior associate (2016-2020) in its growing New York ECVC team. This is a strategic, planned hire from a very cash-rich firm. There is no ‘last one in, first one out’ culture.
This role requires 10-20% of travel – mainly to Washington.
The team, which is part of the international transactions practice, principally handles a mix of emerging companies & venture capital (ECVC) financing, M&A, private equity, and general corporate counseling for publicly and privately held companies, private equity funds, and other investors and entrepreneurs.
The associate would be joining a growing, energetic and collaborative culture that values character, work ethic and personal/professional development. Qualified candidates must have significant experience running venture capital/early-stage financings and working on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and other commercial transactions, in addition to general corporate experience.
The ideal candidate will have sophisticated document drafting skills and the ability to manage complex transactions while overseeing the work of more junior associates and paralegals. The candidate must have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and must be comfortable having direct interaction with partners and clients.
