Corporate/Commercial/IP Senior Associate

Our client is a city firm with a difference. It combines the drive to make a profit with a genuine social purpose. They strive to have a positive impact on clients, employees, the environment, and society. This genuine social conscience makes the firm unique and provides opportunities to work with a diverse collection of exceptional clients, ranging from multinational corporations to notable charities and social enterprises. As a value-driven firm, a commitment to this ethos would be highly regarded.

The firm advises their charity and not-for-profit enterprise client base on a wide range of issues, including establishment, incorporation, mergers, de-mergers, and restructuring; joint ventures and collaborations; commercial contracts, including IP issues; charity fundraising; and regulatory and governance matters, including crisis management.

Due to ongoing client demand, there is now a vacancy for a Senior Associate lawyer to join this market leading team, providing the client base with legal and strategic advice on the full range of corporate and commercial issues affecting them. The work will often be innovative and/or technically and strategically challenging, as you work to help inspiring clients to create positive impact.

In order to be considered for this role you:

  • Will be an England & Wales-qualified solicitor with probably at least 5 years’ post qualification experience in advising charities and social enterprises on the range of issues they face. This will include significant experience in leading on advice relating to commercial contracts, IP issues, charity fundraising, and corporate transactions. Your experience will enable you to work autonomously within a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • You’ll have excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines, strong attention to detail and analytical skills,
  • You’ll be adept at working independently and as part of a team, and will have the experience to take a proportionate and commercial approach; leading on the day-to-day running of matters and/or delegating to and supervising more junior lawyers as appropriate.
  • You will have an enthusiasm for business development, and ideally a demonstrable track record of helping to build a practice. You are passionate about client service, building strong relationships and excited about growing your own practice in the purpose and impact space; and
  • You will share the firm’s values and want to make a difference.

The firm very much practices hybrid working and will be open to a conversation about supporting your agile or flexible working needs.
