On 16 June 2026, ahead of one of Europe’s biggest legal conferences, Jameson Legal and Jameson Legal Tech hosted an exclusive pre-event session at InterContinental London – The O2. Proudly sponsored by LawVu, the afternoon brought together a carefully curated group of senior legal professionals for a focused, insightful session on one of the most undervalued forces in the legal profession: community.
Why Community – and Why Now?
The legal profession is changing faster than ever. AI, legal technology, shifting client expectations and new ways of working are reshaping what it means to succeed as a lawyer. Yet amid all this transformation, one factor continues to be overlooked: the strength of the relationships and networks built along the way.
That was the central premise of our pre-event session – and it resonated deeply with everyone in the room. Rather than adding to the noise of a busy conference week, we wanted to create a space for meaningful, focused conversation. Somewhere attendees could arrive at LegalTechTalk 2026 feeling prepared, connected and clear on what they wanted to get out of the two days ahead.
“A brilliant event!”
The Sessions
The afternoon opened with a keynote from Lisa Ardley-Price – lawyer, coach and co-founder of Hera, a community for women in law. In her session, The Power of Who: Why Community Drives Innovation, Influence and Change in Law, Lisa explored why the future of law will not be shaped by expertise alone, but by the strength of the relationships, networks and communities lawyers build around them. Drawing on personal experience across private practice, in-house legal leadership, coaching and community building, Lisa delivered a session that was equal parts inspiring and actionable – challenging the room to rethink how they approach professional connection.
Dan Morley followed as our featured speaker, sharing practical insights on building strategic partnerships within the legal ecosystem. With a focus on identifying the right relationships, creating mutual value and thinking long-term, Dan’s session gave attendees a clear framework for approaching networking with intention – both at LegalTechTalk and beyond.
The afternoon closed with a panel discussion moderated by Paul Levy, featuring Chris Williams, Eduardo Rastelli and Sarah Ouis. The conversation explored community building and legal networking in depth – covering everything from how to walk into a room full of strangers with confidence, to how organisations can build collaborative cultures that support innovation and resilience. The discussion was honest, practical and at times refreshingly candid – exactly the kind of conversation that’s hard to find at a large conference, and precisely why we created the space for it.
Putting It Into Practice
One of the highlights of the afternoon was a group exercise designed to bring the session’s themes to life in real time. Attendees were invited to grab a drink, find their group, and discover the most interesting thing about the people around them. The results were remarkable – proving in the most human way possible that you truly never know who is sitting next to you until you ask.
The exercise set the tone beautifully for the drinks reception that followed at the Clipper Bar, where the energy of the afternoon carried seamlessly into the evening. Conversations continued, connections deepened and new relationships were formed – the community session working exactly as intended.

Key Takeaways
The afternoon reinforced several themes that we believe are increasingly important for legal professionals navigating a rapidly changing landscape:
- Community is infrastructure. It is not peripheral to a successful legal career – it is the foundation that enables innovation, adaptability and sustainable leadership.
- Networking with intention matters. Knowing who you want to connect with and why, before you walk into a room, dramatically increases the value of any conference or event.
- Authenticity drives connection. The most valuable professional relationships are built on genuine curiosity and shared purpose, not transactional small talk.
- Large conferences can feel overwhelming – preparation is everything. Having a clear focus going in transforms the experience entirely.
“Perfect side event for kick start!”
