Another successful event held by Jameson Legal

Event Wellbeing

On the 18th of June, Jameson Legal & Jameson Contract Solutions (JCS) in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel, hosted a breakfast panel discussion: Mental Wellbeing and Emotional Intelligence – Beyond the Buzzword, at one of London’s most iconic venues, The Shard.

Our well-informed panel consisted of Marylin Heward-Mills (Solicitor, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor / Novelist), Catherine de la Poer (Business Coach), Rob Green (Commercial Director at ASB Law), and Russ Martin (Ashurst Practice Resource Manager and Co-lead on Mental Health Awareness).

The panelists talked widely across the topic, focusing on challenges the legal industry face, how to assess emotional wellbeing, general progress made and how to overcome the culture of ‘not speaking about it’. They spoke enthusiastically about tools and strategies that can be put place in the workplace that will ultimately benefit both employers and employees.  The panel concluded with an interesting Q&A session after which there was a chance to network.

Joined by representatives from a wide range of private practice and in-house legal teams, it was really encouraging to see and hear how this topic is shifting to the forefront of importance within the legal sector. The ideas and thoughts shared throughout the morning prove that mental health and wellbeing initiatives can no longer be viewed as a “soft approach” and are critical to the long-term success and wellbeing of both organisations and individuals.

We are delighted to have received such positive feedback on the event, and having merely scratched the surface, look forward to hosting the next one!
